The system can't even use it for virtual memory file and VMware doesn't use the space anyways!!! If I want to maintain VMware virtual machine in running state, I have to artificially keep 1.9GB disk space unoccupied -> unusable! When I get more programs(or for instance even safari tabs) open, virtual memory file gets bigger, taking more space on HDD. I have 80GB MacOsX partition with about 8-10GB free(do u consider over 10% reasonable percentage?). ( Unreasonable pausing of virtual machine actually makes crash some services running under it:-(( ) MacOsX have it's own methods to deal with running out of space and won't crash very easily! VMware shouldn't take care about space which will never use! (so it's 1.9GB reasonable + 1.9GB unreasonable = 3.8GB needed) It is a bug, 'cause VMware allocates 1.9GB when it's started and the other (not allocated, but required) 1.9GB can't be ever used by VMware. It's very annoying not to be able to use almost 2GB of disk space:-(

In advance VMware Fusion allocates about 1.9GB whenever the virtual machine is started so in my opinion that runtime check is redundant and the check should run only before starting the virtual machine.ĭoes anybody knows how to pass this bug to developers or fix the problem?
